Question Number: 17953

Law 7 - Match Duration 11/19/2007

RE: Competitive Adult

Kenny of Ringgold, Georgia USA asks...

If a goal is scored during the second minute of stoppage at the end of a 45 minute first half, what is the official time of the goal scored, 45th or 47th? If the correct time recorded is 47th, then is the first minute of the second half the 48th minute?

Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino

Record it as '47+' This indicates that it was in the 47th minute of the first half, and it is understood that this is different from the 47th minute of the match proper.

You could also say "45+2" but that isn't the right way to do it.

Answer provided by Referee Jon Sommer

On tv it will be recorded as 45 +2, in the referees notepad it is recorded in first half section as 47 minutes
