Question Number: 18607Law 15 - Throw In 3/24/2008RE: Adult s.heafield of prescot, merseyside asks...Is it legal for a player taking a throw in to deliberately throw the ball against the back of a team mate who is standing in front and then walks away from him slowly to allow the ball to rebound to be then played by the player who took the throw? Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Yes. The thrower may not touch the ball again until it touches another player which it does in this case. that said, why on earth would anyone WANT to do this? This delay gives the opponents more time to defend
