Question Number: 19365Mechanics 6/13/2008Avery Haskell of OP, KS USA asks...When you do the signal for play on for advantage (arms extended upward at the sides) where do you put your whistle while your hands are occupied? Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino Hold it in your hands while you signal. If you're really worried about it, use a wrist length lanyard, which you ought to do anyway and drop the whistle so it dangles around your wrist, signal, and then collect it again.

View Referee Steve Montanino profileAnswer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer The arms are NOT extended upwards at the sides as you say but a sweeping motion from below the waist. It is not important where your whistle is so long as you don't drop it.
