Question Number: 19535Law 1- The Field 6/29/2008RE: U21 Provincial Adult Al of Strathroy, ON CANADA asks...The home team provided flag posts. However, they have been taped at their broken junctions. Two break during the course of the match. I had them removed for safety, continued match, and reported the problem to the league.
However, at what level of play (competition) should match be stopped and attempts be made to repair and/or replace the flag posts? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer I would expect a correct field at that level. Once the match starts making things safe is best until the very highest levels. Noting deficiencies in your match report is correct.

View Referee Chuck Fleischer profileAnswer provided by Referee Gene Nagy Al, if I reffed the game I would have removed the taped flagposts and attampted to get proper ones. Stop time for 'other causes'. If nothing happens quickly I would continue and report to the league.
