Question Number: 20034Law 18 - Common Sense 9/22/2008RE: AYSO Other Andrew Crews of Shelby Twp, Michigan USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 20011 Thanks for the input. I appreciate your answers. Having a medical background I know what heat stroke can do and what it has done to people. I myself would always put my well being before the match because I don't want to hurt myself, and if I am having problems that isn't going to be good for the match overall. I just wasn't sure what theoretically should be done in real life. If the assignor should be called and he/she should find someone else to cover the match or give it to the coaches or abandon it. I think this is something I should probably bring up at my regions next referee meeting. So other youth referees and just other referees in general will know what to do. Thanks you very much Regards. Andrew Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson League protocall for acceptance of a match by a referee should include what to do and who to contact if sick, late or unable to make it. The teams should be contacted as well so cell numbers and resource numbers should always be handy. Cheers
