Question Number: 20073League Specific 9/26/2008RE: All levels Other Franco of Soccerville, Midwest USA asks...Can you explain the Laws of cards being issued in the high school game. It seems to be more complicated than it has to be and I don't see a reason for it but maybe its because I don't understand it. NFHS does not publish the laws free like FIFA or at least I can't find a website that does. Please explain: 1. do 2 yellows in a game always equal a red like in FIFA? 2. Is there such a thing as a hard and soft red and if so what is the difference? 3. Sometimes high school can sub for a red carded player and sometimes they can't-what the rule? Thanks Franco Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol 1. Yes 2. Hard red, same as FIFA. Soft red, the player leaves the game but may be replaced by a substitute. 3. See soft red above. One instance of a soft red is for receiving 2 cautions. There may be others.
