Question Number: 20266League Specific 10/15/2008RE: Amatuer Adult Roy Tau of Cape Town, South Africa asks...How do we do a walk over? Do we have to roll the ball into the net.And what happens if they miss the goal-of course with no opposition! Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Better yet what if the captain wins the coin toss? Does he have to wait 45 minutes before he can kick off? ;o) I have no idea why a walk over also known as a forfiet reguires them to walk the ball into the goal. If the opposition fails to show or fewer than 7 players the referee simply follows league policy and writes the circumstances in the match report. League policy in bylaws should make it clear how long the wait is before a match can be abandoned. Cheers
