Question Number: 20369Law 15 - Throw In 10/26/2008RE: travel Under 10 mark staley of pittsburgh, pa usa asks...is it possible to score a goal directly from a throw in without the ball touching another player from either team? i thought not but we had one ruled against us recently in a game. thanks for your help.. Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson It is an impossibility to be scored upon from a DIRECT Throw in by either team either as an own goal or one by the opposition. If you threw the ball into YOUR own goal it is a corner kick for the opposition . If the opposition threw the ball into your goal it is a goal kick for you! Keep in mind that the slightest touch of the ball against any player accidental or not once the ball is properly throw in to play will make it a legal goal. Cheers
