Question Number: 20408League Specific 10/30/2008RE: middle school Under 14 Bill of franklin, tn williamson asks...what is the rule for stoppage time in middle school? Is there any stoppage time. I know that there is no stoppage time in college, but I'm not sure about middle school. If no stoppage time was added during the first half, can the referee add time in the second half? Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino What rules structure does your middle school play under? In college there is not 'stoppage time' because they use a counting down clock with specific times for clock stoppages. So, that is built in... If this game was played under the FIFA laws of the game, the referee could add time in the second half and not in the first, if he felt time was lost in the second but not in the first... understand?

View Referee Steve Montanino profileAnswer provided by Referee Richard Dawson H Bill , under FIFA stoppage time or the wasted time we make up at the end of the half must be applied to that half only, it can not be carried into the next half. The 2nd half would have stoppage time for that 2nd half only applied no 1st half time can be carried over. If missed it is recorded in the match report and the league wil rule on such matters. I am not sure what a middle school is, junior high, grades 7 to 9? Do you play under NFHS? AYSO? USSF?
