Question Number: 20547League Specific 11/18/2008RE: competative Adult frans cerqueira of Luanda, luanda Angola asks...If a player is sent off for 1 minute in footsal for saying to the referee you better be care full and the player is the goal keeper ,his team then suffers a goal 20 seconds into the 1 minute sent off period ,is the punishement then errased before time ? Answer provided by Referee Michelle Maloney I'm not that familiar with futsal, but in reading the rules, it appears if the keeper or any player is sent off, the team will play with one less for two full minutes. During that time period, someone will have to act as keeper. If the keeper is actually sent off, he cannot return and a new keeper will have to be found. If, during that two minutes, the opposing team scores a goal, the short-sided team can now substitute in a new player (but not the guy that was sent off).
