Question Number: 20568

League Specific 11/22/2008

RE: Comp Under 19

Gary Blanton of Cincinnati, Oh USA asks...

This question is a follow up to question 20555

Thanks for the answer. Now lets make it even more complicated and I hope you can still answer it. I know the National High School 'rules' are different. If this happened in a high school match what if anything about it would change? Also what are other stark differences to FIFA Laws and High School rules?

Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson

While there are variations in applied law to certain things I would hope the safey of the keeper is uncompromised and the right to pursue a free ball is unhindered. If the keeper does not have the ball stopped and in his hands the keeper can be challenged fairly.
