Should you keep time counting from zero or count down to zero?

That's entirely up to you. I always count from zero. Others count down from 45 or whatever the proper time alloted is.

I start from zero, because I do not want the watch to beep and interrupt the focus of the players, or start the coaches hollering about 'Time, ref! Time!'

Besides, it works better for me. It's really whatever works best for you.
