Question Number: 20671League Specific 12/15/2008RE: High School Kerry Lewis of Wilmington, Ohio USA asks...When a post-season tournament game ends with a shootout, the NCAA officially records the game as a 'tie' (excluding the natioal championship game) for the teams end of year stats. Entering the state tournament, our team record was 7-7-2. We lost in a shootout. Is our record 7-7-3, or 7-8-2 ? Can you confirm the NFHS ruling? Regards, Coach Lewis Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino In the first paragraph you say the 'NCAA officially records the game as a tie.' Then you ask if we can confirm the NFHS ruling. These are two separate bodies and to give you an answer I need to be clear on what you would like to know.
