Question Number: 20874League Specific 2/21/2009RE: competive High School zeus cubias of los angeles, CA USA asks...I'm an assitant principal and one of the players on my school's soccer team recieved a double yellow ejection during the first round of the playoffs. Does this disqualify him from the next match like a direct red card? Thank you for your consideration. Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol That will be up to the league and/or state athletic association rules. Some high school rule sets treat a dismissal for two cautions differently than a straight red.
It's good that your players earn so few red cards that you don't automatically know the answer to this question.

High School Leagues are encouraged to establish bans for players receiving disciplinary measures during a match[s]. Those that do have been few and far between. I know that Sac/Joaquin does require a one match ban for being disqualified from play by receiving a subsequent yellow card in the same match. That doesn't establish your league does the same thing. Kindly check with the leagues assignor for further information on the subject.
