Question Number: 21000League Specific 3/18/2009RE: Competative Adult Al Sinopoli of Covington, LA USA asks...I heard that Zidane is considering playing again. I'm sure everyone knows about his last match in the 2006 World Cup Finals. If he returns, does he have to sit out the first game he is rostered for the red card he received 3 years ago? Is there a statute of limitations for a returning player? Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino What an interesting question! I would assume he would sit out more than 1 game given the severity of his action.

He would probably be able to play in club matches, but if he wanted to return to the French side then he would probably have to sit some number of games for his headbutt. Which the referee crew got correct, I might add.
