Some leagues have a caution accumulation rule - after X number of cautions in games that season, you are suspended for a game. In your league, if X=2, then the player would have to sit out the next game. This rule has no effect on the current game, only on future games.

The Law requires a sending off and red card with the subsequent ban of at least one more match for the accumulation of 2 cautions in a SINGLE match. If your League has an accumulation rule, it is possible this second caution could result in such a prohibition but I doubt just 2 cautions over the span of 2 matches would result in any further sanctions.

As much as I dislike this mandatory booking violation it is what it is!
It is feasible if the league or tournament has specified cumulative match cautions as a precondition of play will force a match suspension! Yellow card accumulation penalties on the international scene often work on this principle where two cautions will equal the next match suspension. There is no red card or send off involved!
Cheers
