Question Number: 21927Law 2 - The Ball 9/9/2009RE: Rec High School Bill of Bohemia, NY USA asks...We recently had a game where the color of the ball matched our opponents uniform. I asked the referee to have them change their jersey's and he replied no! Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol I don't see the problem here coach. NFHS rules require that one team wear dark jerseys, the other light. The most popular light color is white. Many balls are also white. They happen to match.

You asked, the referee has the right to say no provided the ball was proper size and weight. I think you feel this creates an unfair advantage I have never noticed it to be so? Can you site me an example? Cheers
