Question Number: 22217League Specific 10/12/2009RE: High School Bill Davidson of Queensbury, NY USA asks...It is some years since I ref'd HS. I recall having a list of Subs from each coach. Now (in non-official games) I am being told that subs may be allowed back on to the field of play after being substituted. Any thoughts? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham There are no restrictions on reentry in high school.

If you are going to be doing high school again, I would highly recommend reading through the newest version of the NFHS rules, as they have changed mightily over the last 10 years or so (thank goodness for that!!). Subs can go in and out as needed by the coach at proscribed stoppages, provided they are up at the scorer's table or report to the AR prior to the stoppage, and of course with the referee's permission - in unofficial and in official games.
