Question Number: 22565Law 15 - Throw In 11/22/2009RE: Comp Under 11 mark of torr, ca us asks...This question is a follow up to question 22297 is it a foul throw if the player's foot crosses over the line at the time of the throw, or, like the ball, must it completely cross over the line onto the field of play for it to be a foul throw? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Mark As long as any part of the foot is making contact with any part of the touchline that is legal. For the TI to be taken incorrectly all of the foot must be over the line or raised off the ground.

As long as some part of each foot is on or behind the line, it doesn't matter where the other part of the foot is. That means the heels could be on the line and the toes on the green.
