Question Number: 22694 1/3/2010RE: Under 14 hanna montgomery of wilton, ct usa asks...A championship game is still tied after the overtime periods and has gone into kicks from the penalty mark to determine the winner. While waiting for their turn to kick, two players from the same team are sent off immediately after the first kick is taken. The other team must reduce their number of players to account for the two opposing players that were sent off. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Referee Montgomery This is in fact incorrect. After KFTPM has begun there is no need to equate numbers and kicks just continue. Might be unfair if the two players that were sent off have done so for tactical reasons but that is the Law.
