Question Number: 22962Law 4 - Players Equipment 3/18/2010RE: High School Adult Kit Gelardo of Quincy, IL USA asks...A High School team only has matching short sleeve dark blue shirts. The coach wants his players to wear long sleeve t-shirts underneath for warmth. Per NFHS, do the sleeves of the under garment need to match the uniform or does he need to ensure that the color of the long sleeves is the same for all of his players? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Referee Gelardo My limited understanding of NHFS Rules tells me that the same rule applies to under jerseys as to undershorts. If a team wants to wear under jerseys, they must be all alike, of similar length and of a solid color. So they don't have to match the uniform but they do all have to be the same. In a game player under FIFA Laws the under jerseys must be the same main colour as the jersey and length is not an issue.

Rule 4-1-e. The undershirts do not need to match the jersey color as under the laws of the game.
