Question Number: 23063League Specific 4/4/2010RE: division 1 Under 15 peter munro of rayleigh, essex england asks...What are the penalties for a player and the opposing teams manager receiving a red card in a league match? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham The minimum is a one match suspension for players and substitutes sent off during the match. Individual leagues, however, can and often do impose additional sanctions where the misconduct involves violence, abusive language and gestures, or for repeat offenders. The league may have a disciplinary code that identifies the procedure for coaches and team officials, and for imposing additional sanctions for serious misconduct.

If the manager has already been warned he may receive a touch line ban or indeed a stadium ban. It is really a matter for the disciplinary committee of the League who will implement the recommended suspension for the offences.
