Question Number: 23882League Specific 9/7/2010RE: Rec Adult Robert Kelly of Gympie, Queensland Australia asks...I played a semi final match in C grade against a team which used A grade players, we did loose 2-3 but the match was declared null and void after we lodged a complaint as the rules state you are not permitted to use superior grade player in a lower division. During the match one of our players was given a red card after he had received a very bad tackle and in pain swore to himself. Nobody else heard this except the ref (who was an ex-player for the opposition). My question is will the red card still stand even though the match was declared a forfeit match due to cheating by using superior grade players. Thanks.... Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham The league's disciplinary or protest committee will decide the effect of cards given in a match in which a protest was upheld. My experience is that all cards usually stand.

The referee will have sent in a match report for the game which will include the cautions and dismissals. It is a matter for the League Disciplnary Committe to decide. In general though my experience is that cards do stand in forfeited, abandoned, games.
