Question Number: 23886

Law 5 - The Referee 9/8/2010

RE: Travel premier Under 13

Liz of Stratford, CT US asks...

This question is a follow up to question 23861

Thanks so much to all of you for responding to my question (#23861). We purchased a cast protector for our daughter which supplies thick padding, completely covering the cast and is secured with four velcro straps (See http://thecastprotector.com)She was able to play at three soccer games this past weekend after the referees at each game inspected the cast protector and deemed it safe. But it will depend upon each ref's discretion and judgment at each game.

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi Liz
I note the advice given on the website. As you say the ultimate decision is based on each referee's judgement and opinion on the day.

Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino

In Georgia this wouldn't be allowed as no casts are allowed padded or not. Even though she was allowed to play, don't be surprised if some referees won't allow it
