View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham Other than in high school, one referee should take position as the referee and the other take a flag as an assistant referee. Use a club lines to assist with the ball in and out of play for the opposite touchline.
The dual system of control is forbidden in matches played under the US soccer federation.
In many parts of the world, there is only one referee for such a match. Having a trained assistant referee on the line is a marvelous help.
