Question Number: 24370Law 14 - Penalty kick 11/23/2010RE: pro Adult Opusoni Thanda of Harare, Zimbabwe Zimbabwe asks...is it proper for a penalty retake to be taken by a different player? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Opusoni Yes any player on the team can take a penalty retake. It is a new penalty and it is the same as any other retake such as a throw in, free kick, goal kick etc. All that is required is that the new penalty taker be properly identified to the referee.
