This question is a follow up to question 22228

if a referee cautions a player for feinting to kick the ball during a penalty kick, how does he restart play. thank you

The restart is the same as for any other offense by the taker of the penalty kick. If the kick scored, then it's a retake. If the kick did not score, then it is an indirect free kick to the opponents.

The referee will let the kick be completed. If a goal was scored directly from the kick, the kick must be retaken. Otherwise, play restarts with an indirect free kick for the defender at the spot of the infringement. The kicker would be cautioned in either event.

Hi Osman
The laws state that if a goal is scored the penalty kick is retaken. If no goal is scored it is an indirect free kick to the defence from where the infringement took place probably close to the penalty mark .

I would just add that at lower levels of youth play, referees rarely, if ever, will issue a caution if a goal is not scored
