Question Number: 24494Law 15 - Throw In 1/16/2011RE: Adult kevin of whitehaven, cumbria england asks...Double question I'm afraid. Can an outfield player take a throw-in wearing gloves? And, Is a goalkeeper allowed to take a throw-in? ps. thanks for the answer to my last question, it was worth a lot of bragging rights. Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol 1. There is no prohibition in the Laws of the Game about players wearing gloves, as long as they are safe. 2. Goalkeepers can do anything the rest of the players can do, including taking throw-ins.

As for keepers, they are just another player unless they are inside their own penalty area. Out on the field, they can kick and score goals, take corners, penalties, and yes, throw in balls. Heck, they can even commit fouls and misconduct out there, too! Glad we could help out.

The goalkeeper is the same as any other player and there is no restriction in him/her taking throw ins.
