Question Number: 24829League Specific 4/17/2011RE: Under 12 Mario Borg of St.Julians, Malta asks...In a five a side match a player takes the goal kick and scores directly in the opposite post from the goal kick. Is this a valid goal? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Mario
In the Laws of the Game a goal can be scored directly from a goal kick.
In Futsal the ball is thrown by the goalkeeper as the goal kick restart and a goal may not be scored directly from this goal clearance.
Also it depends on any local rule for the competition. My view on it is that without a local rule and it is not Futsal a goal can be scored from a goal kick.
