Question Number: 24895Law 5 - The Referee 5/8/2011RE: rec Under 6 Larissa of Oshawa, Ontario Canada asks...Before a corner kick are substitutes allowed? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Larissa The general answer is that a substitution is allowed at any time at the discretion of the referee at a stoppage in play. However many underage Leagues have competition rules which can cover matters such as when substitutions are allowed/ not allowed.

You will have to ask them - the person who asssigned you to the game is a good place to start. Under the Laws of the Game, substitutions are allowed at any stoppage. Youth leagues often change this, because they have an unlimited number of substitutions.

I know I would have to check the rules if I were asked to work a U10 or under game as every League has some modifications and there are no standards from locale to locale.
