Question Number: 24929League Specific 5/12/2011RE: league Adult Christopher Fernandes of Salmiya, Kuwait Kuwait asks...Sir, Can a Federation suspend a club? or only players. If the players play rough and does not adhere to the referee's whistle then it is right to penalize the culprit even if it more then 5 players. Or can the federation just go ahead and ban/suspend the entire team? Regards, Chris Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Christopher This is not a matter for referees to decide. When these situations arise the only involvement of the referee is to write a report of what happened and to forward that to the competition authority. What a League, National Body or Federation does is a matter for them under their relevant rules and regulations. In general rules allow for the suspension of teams, players, team officials as required. The suspensions can be for any unsatisfactory behaviour including poor behaviour of fans.
