Question Number: 25237Law 18 - Common Sense 7/20/2011Titus van Wieren of Torri di Quartesolo, VI Italy asks...This question is a follow up to question 25225 Yes, you have answered the question incorrectly. As you have said, everyone has his / her own opinion. If the laws of the game were to be decided by you 'asktheref.com', then I would have to take your decisions as final. As you have mentioned you do not take the advice of other very respectful referees and thus I should not take yours (on these issues). I have been a referee for many years (as stated beforehand) and have heard things for other referees (during our monthly meetings) that I did not agree with but for the most part I do agree and we can argue about the rest. There is a time to stop, when BOTH sides do not wish to discuss and especially when one side (askthereferee.com) does not offer any link or any concrete evidence that they are right. I, have quoted the FIGC rules (twice, once with a link (both times translated)) and have offered the opinion of a well trusted ENGLISH referee. YOU HAVE NOT AND THUS I TOO SAY THE DISCUSSION IS FINISH AND NO, YOU HAVE ANSWERED MY QUESTION BUT NOT WITH FACT BUT WITH YOUR OPINION. I began my referee career many years ago because of I was tired of bad referee calls and people who said 'Well, I am the referee and that is my decision', true but not according to the LAWS OF THE GAME! Most games I have refereed I have gotten compliments not always but most of the times and on this remember you do give a good service to those who know little or nothing about football. Answer provided by Referee MrRef Please do not respond. Thank you.
