Question Number: 25346Law 15 - Throw In 8/22/2011RE: High School simon of hamilton, waikato new zealand asks...as the sideline is part of the playing pitch is it not a fiul throw if the players foot is on the line Answer provided by Referee Jason Wright The laws state that both the players feet must be on or behind the line at the time of the throw. This means that a player's front foot can even be mostly on the field with just the heel touching the line, and for the throw to be perfectly fine (Assuming all other criteria have been met).

View Referee Keith Contarino profileAnswer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Simon Law 15 allows for a player to have his feet behind or touching the line. So it is legal for a player to have his heels on the line with most of his feet over the line.
