Question Number: 25371Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 8/30/2011RE: college, high school, and USSF College Richard Gramolini of Farmingville, NY United States asks...This question is a follow up to question 7263 High School rule 12-7-4,note: players may not use trickery to circumvent the rule. EX: Players may not flick the ball with their feet to their own head, chest, knee and then pass it to their own GK who touches it with the hands.PENALTY: IFK My Questions is: Where is the spot of the ball? Where the keeper touches it or where the player circumvented the rule? Please answer for all, college, HS, USSF. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Richard The answer in USSF games is that the offence occurs at the point of circumvention and that is where the restart is taken from unless it happened in the goal area.

It is irrelevant whether the keeper actually touches the ball. IFK at the spot of the trick. For NFHS (high school), the misconduct occurs only if the keeper actually touches the ball after a deliberate trick. IFK where the keeper touches the ball.
