Question Number: 25546Law 9 - The Ball in and out of Play 10/3/2011RE: U12 Rec Under 12 Andrea Berg of Collins, Iowa USA asks...The player is running toward the ball and it bounces up never hits the ground barley right outside the line, player was able to get to it while the ball was still in the air and kick it back in. Would this still be considered out? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham Whether the ball is out does not depend on it touching the ground. The referee must judge whether all of the ball was beyond all of the line - - an invisible plane that extends from the outside edge of the touchline or goal line to the 'top of the sky.
