Question Number: 25585Law 15 - Throw In 10/11/2011RE: Competitive Under 10 Daniel Speller of Bournemouth, UK asks...A boy does a throw in and throws the ball out of play. Does he re take the throw or is it a throw in to the opposing team? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Daniel The answer depends on whether the ball cross the plane of the touchline at the throw in. If the ball entered the field of play and then crossed back over the touchline again a throw in is awarded to the opponents from the point it left the field of play. If the ball did not enter the field of play or touched the ground before entering the throw in is retaken.
