Question Number: 25739

League Specific 11/12/2011

RE: Competitive Under 15

suzanne tulenko of San Diego, CA san diego asks...

Can you borrow a player within your own league that is younger for a regular season game if you are short players. Example GU14
borrowing aGu12 giving the GU14 team 10 players.
Thanks,
Sue

Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham

Referees doing the youth competitive leagues in San Diego (Presidio) are instructed to review the player passes to ensure that each has the same team number listed on the pass. Players may not be from a different team in the same club. Moreover, the teams printed rosters from the online record, so that any other player will stand out. Other leagues and tournaments can have different rules.

Using an ineligible player can have significant penalties for the coach, so you should check with the league administer before considering this.

That will depend on your league rules. Some leagues allow club players to temporarily 'play up' on another team in the same club.

Hi Suzanne
This is a matter for the competition rules in your League. In general once a player is signed for a club a player can play in the next age group above. However some Leagues prevent movement of players between age groups.
You need to check with the relevant administrator for the League.
