Question Number: 25826Law 4 - Players Equipment 12/10/2011RE: N/A Other Peter Grove of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire England asks...This question is a follow up to question 25819 I think the questioner meant to say 'soft ground boots' - this is a term often used on UK sports equipment websites for boots (shoes) with the longer-type screw in studs (cleats) needed for soft or muddy surfaces. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Peter I suspect you are correct. Ultimately it is the referee on the day that makes the determination of whether they boots can be used or not. NFHS does provide guidance to referees on equipment in its rules.
