If a player is sent off BUT the match is subsequently abandoned, does his red card still stand?

Hi David
This is what the FA has to say on the matter
'' An abandoned fixture will not count towards clearing a Player of suspension as it is not a completed fixture. Any misconduct received in the fixture will still be processed. Importantly, this is still the case even if a League decide that the result from the abandoned fixture stands. ''
So a player that is sent off in a game even if it is abandoned will be treated in the same way as if the game was completed to a conclusion.

The league decides. In my area, all cards are enforced regardless of the reason the match was abandoned. Imagine what would happen if a team could avoid any red card punishment by walking off the field before the match ends.

It should, but league rules control. The fact that the game is not completed does not change the fact that a sending off offense and whatever penalties ensue has occurred.
