Question Number: 25988League Specific 2/22/2012RE: Under 15 mohsen of Tehran, Tehran Iran asks...hi. About two mounth ago my favorit team(Persepolis) lost a match 3-0 to it's old rival (Esteghlal) now after two mounth they discovered that, two of their players had been doped. But the Iran football fedration didn't do any thing. Now I want to know if the result of the match should be changed or the match should be repeated or something? Thanks a million. Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol This is up to the competition authorities. The referee only decides on things that happen on the field during the game. If the Federation did nothing, then you're probably out of luck.

Referees, of course, would have nothing to do with any of this and the relevant competition authority would have to decide how to proceed.

However there has been cases worldwide involving players taking drugs such as cocaine, cannabis etc. In doping cases the players are sanctioned with a ban as per the regulations set down by FIFA See section 45 of the attached document link. Only in cases where more than two players test positive that the team is also sanctioned. See Section 59 http://es.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/medical/50/29/56/fifadocregulations_09.01.09_e.pdf In the case you cite it may very well be the case that the players have been suspended with no sanction on the club. What you can be sure of is that the Iranian Football Federation must implement the FIFA directives to remain affiliated.
