Question Number: 26044Kicks From The Penalty mark 3/8/2012RE: Professional Costas of Nicosia, Cyprus Cyprus asks...APOEL - Lyon (CL knockout stage 16) The game was decided on penalties. One of the penalties hit the post, then the APOEL keeper and went in. Should it count? Answer provided by Referee Jason Wright Yes. The ball bouncing off the posts, crossbar and/or keeper is still considered to be using the momentum from the kick, therefore is still part of that penalty kick. Even if the ball bounces forwards off the post, onto the keepers back then into the goal, it's still a goal.
