Question Number: 26209

League Specific 4/20/2012

RE: Comp, Select Adult

Britta Young of San Jose, CA 95124 asks...

My son is 14 (almost 15) and has his referee license for District 2. He has refed rec games last fall and would like to referee more comp and select games. He plays on the CV Gunners team and would like to sign up for games in Almaden (John Muir, Lehland). What does he have to do?
Thanks Britta

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi Britta
That is good news and young people are always welcome in refereeing.
A cursory review of the web has provided the following link
http://www.d2sra.org/assign/index.lasso
The site provides the refereeing contacts in District 2.
It is a matter of contacting the Youth Referee Administrator contact listed on the site. Your son's license will be due for renewal and he should familiarise himself with the re-certification process.
In addition there is an online assignment page
http://www.d2sra.org/assign/index.lasso
I hope all that helps.

Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham

Britta:

A good place to start is to email the assignor he worked with last fall. Otherwise, the www.d2sra.org website has information: (a) how to contact assignors, (b) how to re-register for 2012 (deadline is in June); (c) how to sign up for matches online; and (d) mentoring for select/competitive matches.
