Question Number: 26364League Specific 5/20/2012RE: Select Under 15 Laura ray of Grove city, Oh Us asks...Is the a certain number of yellow cards that one player may receive in one season? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Laura Competition rules set the sanction for accumulation of cautions/yellow cards. For example in the UEFA Champions League a player that receives two cautions is suspended for one game. In the UK Premier league a player that accumulates 5 cautions is suspended for one game. If the player receives a further 5 cards before a certain date he is suspended for two games. I suggest that you check this with the local competition organisers as to what the number of cards that results in a sanction. There is no limit on the number of cautions that a player can receives except that two cautions in a one game means the player is dismissed and she must miss the next game.
