View Referee Dennis Wickham profileAnswer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Gordon Yes most definitely. Had the ball that rebounded off the post hit Cech the Chelsea goalkeeper before crossing the goal line a goal would have been awarded. To quote the relevant section of the Laws '' When a penalty kick is taken during the normal course of play, or time has been extended at half-time or full time to allow a penalty kick to be taken or retaken, a goal is awarded if, before passing between the goalposts and under the crossbar: # the ball touches either or both of the goalposts and/or the crossbar and/or the goalkeeper'' So the ball could hit the goalkeeper, go up hit the crossbar then come down hit the post, then hit the goalkeeper again, then hit the post again and a goal would still be awarded if it crossed the goal line. Unlikely to happen but if it did it would be a goal.
