Question Number: 26418League Specific 6/3/2012RE: Under 6 Tito of Simcoe, Ontario CanadA asks...Coach is teaching kids that theyre are not allowed to kick the ball in the crease. I assumed it was ok as long as the goalie does not have control of the ball. Can you clarify? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Tito Small sided games usually have local rules that are unique to that competition. There can be a rule that prevents outfield players from entering the goal area to play the ball.

View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham This is rule for U6 (small sided) in my area. As the players get older, they are entitled to play the ball within the goal area unless the ball is in the keeper's possession.
