Question Number: 26450League Specific 6/14/2012RE: Select Under 12 Chris L. of green bay, wi usa asks...If the uniforms from either the home team or visiting team conflict with the referee, who is obligated to change? Home team, visiting team, or referee? Chris Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Chris Common sense should apply. If the referee has a change of kit then IMO he should change rather than a team. If however the referee if he wishes can apply the competition rules which certainly covers a team clash.

It is a foolish referee who asks a team to change jerseys when the referee can avoid a conflict. But, the technical answer is that if someone must change the jersey, it is the team (or more likely, the goal keeper) that must do so.
