Question Number: 26792Law 16 - Goal Kick 9/18/2012RE: Adult stephen briggs of easington colliery, co durham england asks...If a goalkeeper kicks the ball into his own net direct from a deadball goalkick what should be the result Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Another goal kick. The ball has not gone into play until it exits into the rest of the field beyond the penalty area. There are some bizarre scenarios, most involving extremely high winds, when the ball would be kicked beyond the penalty area and then it goes back into the net. If that is the case, then the goal would still not count, because you cannot score against yourself on any restart. In that case, the restart would be a corner kick.
