John Hughes of Victoria,B.C., Canada asks...

When a game is called at half time because of fog and there were a red card and and yellow card given out in the first half. What happen to the cards for the next game, do they carry over to that game or if they have another game does the one with the red card sit out.

It is a decision for each league. In general, many leagues provide that any cards shown will count, and will have immediate effect.

Any cards given, even on an abandoned match, should still be reported and the league will have rules in place to determine how to handles these. Generally though, any cards given still stand - regardless of whether the match was completed, the misconduct still occurred.

Hi John
The referee reports all cards in the game whether it is completed or not. It is a matter for the competition organisers to decide based on its rules. My experience is that all cards in these situation are dealt with in the same way as normal.
