Question Number: 27178Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 2/14/2013RE: High School Alicia Dellinger of McDonough, Ga. USA asks...If a player gets red carded in a high school scrimmage does he have to sit out of the next game or is he just ejected from that particular game? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Alicia That is a matter for the competition organisers and can be based on the reason the card. It also depends if cards in scrimmage games are acted on by the authorities In FIFA sanctioned games the player must automatically sit out the next game. It is not as clear cut as that in NFHS or scrimmage games and the athletic director will be able to answer the question.

The Georgia High School Association has published guidelines that provide a minimum one match and two match suspension based on the type of misconduct. You should confirm with the school's Athletic Director. http://www.ghsa.net/ghsa-constitution-and-laws#soccer
