Question Number: 27254Law 15 - Throw In 3/16/2013RE: Adult Kerry Green of Adelaide, South Australia Australia asks...This question is a follow up to question 27213 Is it an offence to throw the ball directly to your keeper? As far as I can see, there is no direct reference to the situation in Law 15. Law 15 seems to refer to the keeper touching the ball a second time, but this reference comes under the heading 'Throw taken by a goalkeeper'. Can you clarify? Answer provided by Referee Jason Wright It's only an offence for the keeper to handle the ball directly from a teammate's throw-in. The reference is found in Law 12, at the end of the list of keeper-specif offences (page 35 of the online LOTG).

So if the goalkeeper touches a throw in from a team mate the referee awards an IDFK to the opponents from where the goalkeeper touched the ball with his hands inside the penalty area.
